Hey peeps, i have been wondering, what would be the best drop for my 99 burban. I want to do 4 in drop in front and 6 in rear. Front i wiant to get 2 in drop springs with 2 inch drop spindles. I dont wat it slammed to the floor. lol body scapin the floor is not my taste, but going for older hot rod look. And for the back i want to flip the the brackets and add a 2 in block. is the best way guys or is there better ways. No air bags either. any info will help.

If you want that drop, that's the tried and true way to get it done.

If you want the hotrod look then don't level it. Hotrods have the nose lower.

Take measurements. My Suburban was only 1/2" higher in the rear than the front at stock height. After installing 2/3 drop components that actually gave me 3/2.5, I'm now sitting with about 1" of rake.

Yeah i did do the measuremens. Rear is 2 inches. The only thing i am reallyh worried abou thugh is the rear. Will I have to C-notch the frame. Can i just shave the bump stop. I will take side profile of my truck and show how it is. I always welclome feedback from others, especailly since this is my first truck im going to drop What size tires do have on the Burban.

I removed my huge stock bump stops (what a pain in the azz) and have some button-style stops in their place. While I've never bottomed when empty, there's not a lot of room left when you look under there. If you're going to flip the rear, you'll surely need a notch.

...and add a 2 in block.

that would give you 8 inches in the rear. flip kit is 6 inches, thats all u need....if u want 4/5, do 2in spindles, 2in coils, flip kit, and 1" lift shackles...belltech street performance are great shocks also

def gonna need a notch if u go more than 4" in the rear

I'd go with a drop shackle in the rear before I chose a block.

In any case, I'd reccomend adding helper bags. 42 gallons of fuel behind the axle is quite heavy.

Ok,so my homie and i did the measurements for flipping the brackets on the diff. That was about 4 and a half inches. Im a missing something hear. And was also told that the blocks make for better comfort and than shackels is this wrong. Sorry no pics, i dont ahve enough post yet.

With blocks, shackles or even just the flip kit, you're not changing the springs out so they won't change the way the truck rides. The only thing you'll be doing to the rear that will make it ride differently will be the shocks.

Boyd Coddington Haze wheels with Yokohama tires.

Spindles and springs for the front.
Flip kit and c-notch for the rear. That should be a pretty level drop right there. I would get it installed and see how it sits. If the rear ends up too high for your tastes, then you can buy a set of shackles for the rear. Most drop shackles are adjustable from 1" - 2" of drop and shackles are a relatively simple install.
