Rear end swap in my 1981 C10

Can I put all the rear end parts from a 1 ton into my 1/2 ton without too much fuss? Leaf springs and axle. The whole nine yards. Can anyone comment on parts compatibility in years? (say I find a 86 1 ton for instance) How about the drive shaft?

Trying to gauge how big of a deal this is. Goal is to be able to tow substantially more than stock rating.

Use a3/4 ton, it will bolt right in. the leaf springs will work, but the perches on a 1 ton are narrower.
