Wireless routers

My current Belkin N300 seems to just disconnects me at random when I'm working from home. It's the only thing I can think is causing it. I don't use the wireless often, only when I telework a few days a month. Signal strength seems to vary from 144 mbs down to 50 mps throughout the day. Looking for options, I've had this for about a year and a half. Never had any issues with my old laptop, but since I got the new one......

What are good not to high cost options?
