View Full Version : Door Chime disable easy to do.

I have a 2000 Silverado ECSB. I pulled the knee bolster under the steering column and this is what you will see.

I then pulled the BCM ( I think that is what it is called) and disconnected the 3 plugs and lift the tab on top and it will slide out towards you.

There are 4 tabs that hold the box around the circuit board 2 on each side.

Towards the back of the board you will see the 1" diameter buzzer. I have already removed mine but this is where it was.

Turn the board over and unsolder the buzzer then remove it. Reassemble everything and no more buzzer and nothing else is affected. I have no clue if this will work on other year models but for my 2000 it worked like a charm. I will try and get some pics up in the next day or so. Just thought I would pass on the info for anyone looking.

the door buzzer doesn't both me nearly us much as the turn signal one does, gah that thing is annoying.
bu i am curious to see the pics, who knows i might try it out

Why not unplug the buzzer and toss it in the glove box? I cut one of the legs off of mine... the one that makes it ding while the door is open with the key in. that way, I still get the headlight reminder.

The buzzer you are talking about is on the OBS trucks the NBS as far as I know dont have that type of buzzer. I pulled mine on my 95 but these trucks are different. I still plan to get pics up as soon as I can just been real busy lately.

my 04 has the alarm thing tied into the door speaker. how do i disable this
