Hey guys. I need a little help. I have a 95 gmc z71 1500. How much of a lift do I need to fit 35s. And will my truck with 3.73 gears pull 35s? Thanks.

Ill betcha a tbar crank and fender trim will fit em. Go check out the offroad section for some pics of what guys have and see what you like. Your stock tires are about 32", so add 1.5 onto the radius and see if they look like they would fit.

if you want a full suspension lift to clear 35s, go with a 6" lift.

sawzall is also an option.

As for the gearing question, 3.73 and 35's should feel similar to my 98 (350/4l60) with 3.42s and 32's. I lack the acceleration of my dads Dmax or my grandpa's c1500 w/ 3.73 and 30's.
But, I can spin the tires on dry pavement from a stop or slow roll if i smash the pedal about halfway down. It will be drive-able but you will probably be disappointed since you are used to 3.73/32. Super smooth on the highway though. I cruse 65 at about 1600 rpms or so, and 80 at 2000.

The plus side here is that you have great passing power. I don't start to lose power until I'm over 90, that last 10 mph is a stretch but I've bottomed out the speedo more than once.

Try this link to a gear calc. pay attention to the last part about the rpms at certain speed. It should give you a pretty good idea of what it should feel like. You will need to know what tranny and Tcase you have. I think its a np241 but i'm not sure. That's what i put for mine and all the info is correct.

I started a thread about 35's and no lift. I got a lot of replies with some good info and pictures.
