ok I managed to figure out how to remove dash except for wire harness. what I need now is what type and size screw or bolt hold convenience center to fire wall and just how you get at it from engine compartment, alot of wires in the way.

HA HA. if you have picks please post, they had stole my stereo and broke my dashe. I need to replace it and want to do it on my own.

I have the factory manual but can't make much sense of its instructions. So far I have:

Removed all of the 7mm hex head screws I could find around and under the steering column
Removed the lower dash piece under the steering column
Removed the bolts from the steel support
Removed the steel support
Dropped the steering column by loosening the two 15mm (?) nuts that hold it up
Remove the instrument cluster surround now that the steering wheel is out of the way
Remove the glove box
Remove yet more 7mm hex head screws
Remove the stereo, CD player by pinching the tabs down
Remove the climate control by trying to pinch the tabs inwards - they broke
Drilled out two rivets from under the steering column

I think the manual is telling me there are now two bolts that hold the "swivel" action of the main dash panel. One on each side. You'll see there's a kind of swivel mounting where the dash is pinched against the door jamb. Anyway, I'll have another shot at it this Friday. The dash is getting pretty loose so I think it's about done.
