My truck is a 06' HD ECSB with the 6.0. I tow my off road truck which is 5800Lbs and on steep highway grades in its definitely struggling. Everywhere else is great. I dont like revving the crap out of it and am happy with its overall performance normally so I dont want to do gears. it has 4.10's and Im good with that. I was wondering if anyone had any experiance with the Power Programmer using it in tow mode. I heard the 6.0's really wake up with these things, but before I buy one, does anyone have any numbers or can attest to the difference it made while towing? Im at like 4000RPM going up long steep grades which is definitely too much in my opinion.
"get a duramax" isnt an option.

I had a hypertech programmer on my 01.It was a rc/lb 4x4 4.10 gears. It made a noticeable difference. Not sure on actual numbers, but worth it.I also had exhaust, and cai,on it too.I was towing a 24ft enclosed car hauler. It helped with staying in od and not down shifting all the time.It also lets you change the shift points.I think its a mod worth doing.

Is there a part number? would I have to buy the same one? Is the superchip unit a programable one able to be customized like the hypertech ones?

go to superchips.com. all you do is tell them you have a outdated scanner and they will give you a credit when you send it to them. and it allows you to do quite a bit.

I liked the diablosport in my half ton w the 5.3. it gave me a lil more power but not alot, but it was really nice when I could play with and adjust the transmision shift points and preasure and a few dif things. idk but Im sure thay prly make a bigger dif in the 6.0, I would do it!

No experience with a programmer or chip but 4000 RPM while towing isn't bad on a 6.0 vortec. I've had mine up to five grand a few times. It sounds like it is gonna blow, screaming like that but these new Gen motors make their power higher up in the revs band.
