Cats clogged, really don't want to spend the money on hi-flows right now as gas prices are hurting me. Wondering how loud it will be if I put in delete pipes for now. I know my blazer got a little louder, but will my truck? I'm worried about it getting to loud. I hate that in-cab drone. I was thinking of putting a Flowmaster 40 on before, that loud is fine, but I'm really not wanting a straight pipe rumble.

My truck got stupid loud when I took the cats off, wish I would have gone a different route with the exhaust.

i did it, its just a hum in the cab. i have no cats and glasspacks that dump under the bed on my 97 with 350. i like the sound. prepare for codes when you cut them out, i got them dont really care cuz i know what it is and the spark plug trick didnt work for me.

as mentioned above your truck will be noticeably louder and check engine light will come on etc.... you're in the same boat as i was about a week ago.....mine was a rusty turd so i cut it out but i have a 93. I dont think it would hurt as a temporary fix. just be easy on the pedal and it wont be to loud and you wont see the red and blue lights in rear-view:D

I cut mine out on my 98 with a 350 because they were plugged and it got alot louder. I had no cats and glasspacks with four inch tips and that was crazy loud. I didnt like it at all. Now I have duals no cats and a 14 inch magnaflow and its not terrible loud in the cab unless you put your foot into it. But you will notice quiet a bit of diffrence in loudness in the cab and the engine light will always be on. If you really dont want it alot louder in the cab i would spend the money on hi-flows. But for the time being it wouldnt be that bad.
