JL stealthbox w6v2 work for Type R subs?

WHATSUP! ok! im tired of my dub 6's!!!!!! ive blown 2 in the passed 4 months and they dont even hit as well as my 1 type R 10" did!

so i guess my question is, is if anyones put a type r in the jl stealthbox that they make?

its the 10w6v2 stealthbox for 99-06.. ported.. im assuming it'd work? but would it be better to just make 2 12's fit? but these boxes are frickin awesome and i really love the way they look. but theyre just not loud enough so im thinking Type Rs?.. im powering them with a 1200 watt alpine amp. pdx-m12 or whatev.. their nice one.

iuno its a question for thought. i messured the box. and granted it wasnt exact i ended up with 1.3 air space..

10" type Rs want 1.5 max for ported. but thats without sub volume. so who knows?

AND 2 12's.. sealed.. iuno! and the fact that its a kinda cheap box makes me real nervus! id make one similar but with 3/4 inch mdf.. and some braces. but iuno guys. TYPE R's

Going from a properly built ported 10 box to a universal prefab sealed 12 box will be an indistinguishable difference, imo. I would say if you're not happy with the output of your 10's get better subs, more power and a custom made box (you can even have one built to replace the bottom of your rear seat all together) that is tailored to the subs you're running, and you should be more than happy with the results.

I guess if all you are concerned with is how loud you can make it and not sound quality...do you know what the air space specs of the type R you want is?

Well. The type r tens want a .8 box min and 1.5 max. While the dub6s want. 75 min an 1.25 max.. so the stealth boxes gotta be able to take those type rs? Im planning a 2 12s box in my head like the one from that prefab site but will stick out further to get more airspace cause the 12s want 2 ft air space ported max.. and if that box is really 1.42 each side im sure i can make it happen. I would like to keep my stealthboxs if the type rs will work bah who knows.. i do want sound quakity

The only problem is.. 10s to test the stealthboxes out will make it impossible to buy 12's cause i cant return after lol.. so if i do 10's to try it i have to build a box for the type r 10s.. when id prefer 12's.. but then again, fitting 2 12's in there with the airspace that theyre wanting will be hard. lol. i will raise my seat but mannn its just soo much thoughttt! i wish someone had a badass build thread. lol
