I have 2 dana 60's with detroits in the front and rear that i am planning to swap into my 1995 gmc 1500(sas)...... Some tell me that i will be fine if i run selectible locking hubs, it will not affect the street usage:argue:. It will be a daily driver/wheeling rig, any advice/experience with the detroits on the street?----- (Senior Project) replys are greatly appriciated, thanks!

Just unlock the front hubs and you'll be fine.

Manual truck? The Detroit in the rear will be fun. You'll learn to deal with it, but it can do a few sketchy maneuvers until you learn to expect them.

True story. I had a Lock Right in the rear of a 4x4 Sonoma reg cab/short bed with a 5-speed. Interstate off ramps could be sketchy in wet or snowy conditions. Once you get used it, it's not bad, but the first time you put it in 3rd going around an off ramp on a rainy day it will get your attention. :D

As has been mentioned when you lock the front and it is a snowy day, be ready for a different ride. Don't be to "gassy" in the turns and get used to them.
Have fun!

This.
My Burb had an SM465 and a detroit in the rear. Couple that with the long wheel base I was ok on the open road (be careful on the downshifts!), but damn did people stare in parking lots... CLUNK, POP, SQWUAAAK..."amost there"...CLUNK, POP, SQWUAAAK...
