i have a air raid throttle body spacer that is a few months old. a buddy of mine gave it to me from his 94 k1500 suburban that he plowed snow with. he claims it adds alot more low end torque and would help me because of the 700 or more pounds of stere equipment i have in the back of my truck.
is this something i should put on and use ? would it make any difference at all ? how bout in mpgs ?
i was also thinking edlebrook or k&n air intake. anybody know of some real good ones that actually work ?

I'm going to guess your truck is TBI? If so yes throw it on, if not don't.

Throw it on and see how it does...... you can always use your IPHONE or smartphone to measure if it really helped or not with programs like Pocketdyno (a little subjective but if set up right gives an ok idea).

It'll sharpen low end throttle response. Don't expect big MPG/HP gains, but driveability wise, it feels good.
Get a smooth bore, or open, or ramped one. DO NOT get the spiral crap.

THrow it on, you will need fuel line extensions or loosen the fuel line hold down on the bellhousing right behind the engine to get enough length on the fuel lines to get the spacer to work.

It will give you minimal gains at best. Under ideal conditions on an ideal day, you *might* hope to achieve 2 HP. most likely, it will do absolutely nothing. On the flip side, you could LOSE power and performance. It's not worth all of the trouble you will have to go to, altering fuel lines and suchlike to get possible "gains" that are so small that you won't notice them anyway.

T-body spacers work on wet intakes. Fact. You will not lose anything.
T-Body spacers are a miserable joke that make a whistling noise on dry intakes. Fact. You are apt to lose power.
Install is a joke, line fitting extensions are just bolts, or undo the line clamp on the trans bellhousing to get the extra length.
Good time to do the rest of the ultimate TBI mods, and full clean the throttle body. It's damn nasty in the lower half of the TB thanks to the PCV.

put it on.while your at it get rid of the choke ring and put the power charger bowl on. I recently did it on my 90. though not neck snapping power but a definate notice in throttle response. gas mileage not sure yet as I just took the 350 pounds of sandbags out of it. but with them in I was getting a solid 13.5. since u got it for free its free horsepower

I just threw the collar in the garbage, put the OE housing right down on top of the TB with a new gasket. Free, no need for the bowl.

Can you get access to a torch or die grinder? take the stock housing, put it upside down on a table, take the power charger and put it on there, take a sharpie, mark around the edge, cut out excess in the middle, enjoy even better throttle response, tbi magic, etc

been wanting to do that for a while now. I can only imagine how much better the response would be. its pretty impressive right now

Was worth the 5 min it took me with a torch.
Do you still have the heat flap in? the tube in the fender and silencer box?

The swirly helix part is what is killling the gains, smooth those out and make it a smooth bore and you will be much happier.

Junk. They can load with fuel, actually taking fuel out of atomization. I had mine bored smooth after I noticed this.
Whole idea is to increase intake volume, increase the distance to the intake floor, all while maintaining cfm, not creating unnecessary turbulence after the injectors.

Well they are worth their weight, transdapt seems to be the cheapest around, maybe you can snag one used on Ebay

took it off and attempted to cut em out but couldnt do it with the power tools i have on hand so said hell with it. I think i need to turn fuel press back down it dont seem to like it. I can tell a difference in response and it sucks. fml :( I also raised injector pod 1/4 in just using some farrels and no gasket. would that affect anything?

YOu need to use a few gaskets or use the actually spacer. I think just using farrels will cause an issue.
