Reason Im asking is my 89 RCSB rides like a brick. Its got DJM spindles and springs in front and flip kit rear with Doestch shock and shock extenders are installed. With the shock extenders installed the shock angle is 40-45 degrees, just looking at the shock makes me wonder how they work at the angle.
I want to correct the angle to more of a 20 degree angle.
The front seems to ride firm but the rear makes the whole truck ride like crap. And now that I added Cal-tracs its alot worse cause I have the preload adjusted on the tight side.
Even adding weight in the bed doesnt seems to help even when I didnt have the traction bars.

You didn't mention a C notch. Is your frame notched?
...and are the shocks facing the right way....meaning shaft side up?

Shocks are installed shaft side up and yes it has a CNotch.
:dunno: Yes the shocks are are pretty hard angles, but both my trucks ride fine. :dunno:

Hmmm...when installing these rear shocks it took quite a bit of effort to compress them. And the only thing else I can think of is Im not running a rear bumper, spare tire/hanger which is making the rear end lighter. Im grasping at straws now.....
Seems like everyone likes these Doetsch shocks but I have no clue as to why the my rear ones would be so stiff

Neither am I.

My truck did the same but it was because shocks was bottomng out. Or

Did someone over tighten the spring shackles? Many people make the mistake of tightening those bolts when they should be able to pivot freely.

Shocks are not bottoming out and the c notch is centered above the axle.
I can take pics, just need to know of what??
the shackles pivot freely, i just have the whole suspension out when I installed the cal tracs.
The shocks are 4163g on d side, 4231g on p side, now the pass side shock was fully extended at ride height so i had to angle the shock extender further up and made a small bracket to bolt to the extender and stock shock hanger. IM still confused on that one, cause thats the right shock for the p side.
