I want to replace the worn out bench in my 89 silverado, and good seats are hard to come by. I was at our local pick n pull over the weekend, and they had a 97 or so silverado with buckets I guess, the driver seat, a center section with fold down arm rest, and the passenger section. Anywho, they were grey to match my interior, and in good shape. I passed initially because they wanted to charge me 3 bucket seat price, instead of bench seat.
But, is this a fairly straight swap, or whats involved to swap in newer style seats within the same era? These were power also, but the more I think about it, the $150 or so it would've cost is still well worth it to have some nice grey seats in my truck. As far as the power, is there a module for them, or do they simply need a power and ground source?
Most of the trucks at pnp were picked clean, but this one has a smashed in driver door, making it harder to pull the seats, probably the only reason they're still in it.

If you have the full bench. You need to drill out the holes for the seats and possibly run a power wire to run the electronics in the seats if there is not a pig tail already there.
There are nice dimples in the floor pan where you need to drill. Everything should line up just fine.

I did this in my last truck a 1992 , Driver seat bolts right up , passenger seat outside bolts up but had to drill two holes for the inside of passenger seat. Console had to drill for also. For power I ran the pigtail off seat to an accessory power off the fuse block and grounded on truck , just need to test which one to hit on fuse block since there were several extra spots on it.
Other than that pretty straight forward install, good luck with it ....

beware on the 89-90 didn't have dimples on the floor. I found this out..so time to measure a lot to make sure everything is square

This is true , what i did was bolted in the two bolts in the passenger seat and marked for other two bolts and marked like that...
