finally got around to building my roof rack, i was going to bend tube to run from the rack down to my frame but i need to get a bender first so i attached it with clamps which is plenty strong for right now. I attached it to the sides of the stock roof rack because they seem stronger than the cross bars. Heres a few pics of the build (sorry alot of pics, i take alot when i make something lol) nothing fancy but i like it.

yea im going to do that actually, im going to use the dually led flood pattern. I have the Dually D2 driving on my bumper and love them. Im going to get a set and put one for reverse on my suburban and one for the same thing on my gf's bronco.

yea it will be nice to have a decent back up light. Their a little pricey but the dually d2 light i have are worth the money. Also look into other LED lights if u dont want the duallys its nice having super bright lights, that are small, dont get hot, and draw almost nothing lol. Yea It is a project that im always going to be adding stuff on, next big thing ill make is probably a rear bumper with a swing out to get the tire out of inside the truck. Also running tube down from the roof rack along the body down to the frame so i can get a roof top tent for the top.

this is my rack the lights are not mounted there i just put them there for show hopfully i will have it on the roof with some heavy brackets to make sure it doesnt go anywhere plus have the lights wiredhttp://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/546287_409614979059036_100000316114905_1350622_268 663519_n.jpg

yea im not sure if u have a welder or not but thats the nice thing with lights is that those tabs are cake to make and weld on and secure. Wiring lights isnt bad at all either since its just a light and those look like halogens so u dont have to mess with anything extra, just wire through a relay and fuse it. How are u planning on mounting the rack to the roof?

yeah i already build the mount i did them off the 2 outside ribs on the roof now im going to beef up the rack before putting it on so it can handle a little more weight and the light are going to move in front of the rack on tabs once i make them , and i do have a welder

I want to build a roof rack kinda like that for my 2011 silverado, but I have no factory roof mounts to mount it to. Anyone know how I could build some roof rack mounts and attach them to my roof nice and clean with out leaking?
