Hey guys. I started to smell a musty smell in my 2004 silverado 5.3. i noticed that the passanger floor was wet. i took apart the moldings and found that underneath the carpet was SOAKED. Yesterday i wet-vaced up all the water. I thought that the AC drain was clogged so i followed it up with a wire. Now today i had more water in the cab. i sucked it all up again and turned on the truck and i found the water source. Its leaking cold water from the inside firewall. what could this possible be?? Do i need to take out the dash board to find out more? or do any of you know what it could be. thanks guys

Are you sure its water, or is it antifreeze? It sounds like a heater core to me.

It dosent smell like antifreeze. And its coming out cold, after the truck is at 210.

Does your AC work normal? Could it be the evaporator is freezing and then melting. The drain should still care of that though?

Maybe the case is cracked and the condensation is leaking thru that instead of the drain..

I looked at the drain today and it is dripping a little.. I dont know how much is supposed to be coming out of there but its just a few drops. And it feels like theres air coming out of the drain as well. Does any one have a schematic of how to disassemble the interior part to get to the drain condenser area?

I think im getting a little closer here. Is there supposed to be an elbow or a hose at the end of the drain? (inside the engine bay.) It seems like mine is missing and its seeping thru the seal that drain tube pops out of on the fire wall.

My truck has a elbow at the firewall its a 96 though.

Yes that was the problem. I bought some hose stuck it on and now no more leaking in the truck. What was happening was that the water was coming out that little pipe and going down the bottom and dripping down the firewall, and where the pipe enters thought the firewall theres like a sponge material and it was going throught that into the cab..

Thanks guys for your help
