I am going to buy a C10 converted to a K10 here in a couple hours. It has a Dana 44 up front and a GM 14 bolt (the big one with a 10-1/2" ring gear) out back. I am sure there are a multitude of gear ratios available for both axles, but is there a way to logically conclude what ratio they are? For instance Dana44 has ratios A,B,C and GM14 bolt has C,D,E,F, then we could conclude the truck has ratio "C".

You won't really narrow it down just by comparing what's available - LOTS of ratios for both those axles, based on what I just pulled from Randy's Ring & Pinion
