I have my current project a 1989 Gmc c1500 ext cab long box that i have brought back from the near brink of death. Now i have found myself useing this truck more and more after being spoiled in my 1998 suburban ls i have currently been thinking about if i got a later model door (95-98) if there was a way to make the gm power mirrior switch work i have read were some guys use a s-10 switch but i think it would look more sleek useing the gm one in the spefic doors ive mentioned what all would this entail thanks to some of the other guys on this fourum i have the wiring differnces between the two doors i know i will need to rewire but this does not bother me the main thing im am wondering is are the mirriors just like every other truck thing someone can screw or glue to there truck and just nned the one power wire and one ground any help with this I would be very greatful to have

The mirrors will fit just fine. The mirror has 4 wires that would need to be wired in to the switch.

The doors do not have any mirror wiring in them so you would have to make your own harness

You might also keep your eye out for parts from a 92-94 Blazer/Yukon/Suburban as these typically had power mirrors with the same style door panel as your 89.
