Hey all, been a while since i've been on here. My 92 now has a pretty solid engine (full roller, aluminum heads etc...) and i pulled an idiot move of throwing a 14 bolt under it, which has sort of grown on me due to white trash appeal minus the weight. Either way it's in desperate need of traction, and no, the near 600 lb rearend isn't helping. I was thinking of simple traction bars since i finally snagged a decent welder, but i'm wondering what's worth the time and effort for my situation. I'm not planning on keeping the 14b, probably going for one of the 12 bolts rusting away in the basement, but the idea is the setup should be temporary enough that 15 minutes with a grinder and 15 minutes with a welder i'll have the same setup on the next rearend.
I've seen caltracs and i'm not 100% sold on them, hopefully someone here will convince me cause they seem the easiest/cheapest. Back to whitetrash appeal, i'm almost tempted to stinkbug the hell out of it and throw fatty rails on it. I'm all about practicality over aesthetics though so if caltrac is the way to go i'm all for it.
Here's what i'm workin with...
