I recently aquired a 93 Suburban and the sound inside is lacking to say the least.
The front 4x6's dont work at all, the 6-1/2 in the rear doors pop and crack at any sign of low end, and the 4x10's in the far rear fade in and out sometimes working and other times not. I am also not liking the aftermarket install kit where I have to reach halfway across the cab to change the channel.
What I would like to have is a Single DIN DVD/NAV receiver with a touchscreen remote that can be mounted where the current radio controls are at. (Yeah I know good luck!!) I was looking through Crutchfield for ideas and saw they had an Alpine touchscreen remote that would fit almost perfectly, however it only works with models that are discontinued...
My end goals are I would like to have NAV for the driver(with radio controls within safe reach and prefer to not use a small remote) , DVD screen(s) for the passengers in the rear, Iphone dock for music and communication.
Suggestions?
