View Full Version : I need Help all you guys with the mark 3 conversions

Well I Have a 1989 Gmc c1500 ext cab my interior was completely shot to say the least but it was a plain old sle and yes I know it was the highest model of its day but I have seen some trucks like a 1990's Gentleman edition I know this is conversion because of were the badge of the truck model is it said the van house well what I am after is pictures and measurements of the wood pieces of the mark 3 conversions this is my first Gmc truck I drove a conversion van before I guess I’m kind of spoiled and I know that they dont make the parts anymore and i am a amature wood working fiend i think i can make them any help with this will be alot of help

I'd say go to a local scrapyard and look for conversion Suburbans/Tahoes/Yukons, or just take the measurements yourself for where ever you want to put wood.
I believe there's a conversion Suburban at my scrapyard I could nab some interior bits from if it's still there. Next time I'm there I'll snap a couple pictures of the interior and you can let me know if there's anything you want.

cancritter thats nice i like the idea i might have to barrow it where did you snatch your seats out of. Suburbank the pics would be great the problem with the scrapyard idea around here is there kinda rare or already picked through

seats came outa a 97 excb....then cleaned and dyed them with SEM...for cork panels it was easy..cut&measure and bevel top edge and they work perfectly...just wanted something to offset all the black in the cab...pics realy dont do it justice
