Will be getting my new crate LQ9 to replace the 5.3 in my 2005. Just ordered a dyno max VT cat back stainless system, an air rad air intake , a new Dorman intake manifold and an air lift load leveling system. Should tighten ole girl right up! Any other add ons anyone can think of for more power and torque?

Who does the best reprogram? My local GM dealer says they can do it they want 250. but im not sure if there gonna give me what im looking for. A advanced reprogram not a standard program so the 6.0 will run properly.

might just look into a custom tune/reprogram. i don't know the specifics on it, whether you need a new computer or not (i wouldn't think so, just the wiring harness) but a Blackbear custom tune is highly recommended on this site, allow i have no experience with them yet, i would steer towards that direction

I see you are in Charlotte, did you get the motor somewhere local? If so how much were you able to get it for? I'd love to do that swap in my 96

Contact blackbear for the tune. They have my computer now. I am doing the same swap but I went with a crate LQ4. With the tune it should be around the same power as the LQ9. One question though, Why did you get a new intake?? The stock 5.3 bolts right up.

I got the motor from nesmith GM in georgia. I buy alot of crate motors from them for our racing programs so i get a decent deal. The motor new from them was 2800. delivered to my door. I replaced the intake because i was getting a lean misfire code and a local gm tech told me they were famous for cracking the intakes. So i ordered a Dorman intake to replace it. Got it in yesterday and it is quiet abit different from my factory one but it has a sticker on it saying it is visually different because of a redisign to fix the issue with some weak points. Does this sound right and has anyone heard anything about the Dorman intakes?

I have emailed them 4 times with no responce. I found a very well recommended performance GM only shop local to me in Mooresville. They do ALL GM newer model tunes and performance add ons, dyno tunes etc on GM trucks , trailblazers , corvette and camaro's. PCM for less in mooresville NC They were 10 miles away and had great feedback. They had a trailblazer there driven by a young girl with 580 hp!

The more you email the further back on the respond list you go. I know it doesnt make sense but thats the way it works. I sent my computer to them and they go it the 16th and they tuned it and sent it back and I got it today. Talk about fast service. Just be patient they get hundreds of e mails a day.
