I have a 97 sierra with the 4l60e and just recently it has started not wanting to shift into 3rd at WOT. Not even 2 weeks ago i could put it to the floor and it would jerk ya into 3rd. Now it will still bark the tires into 2nd but it will tach out in 2nd untill you let off the throttle and then it will shift into 3rd. I have read that it can be the fuel filter restricting flow at such high rpms, and i've read that the transmission is "shot." Idk what is going on but I would like some of you guys imput

my guess is the 3-4 clutches are gone.
No 3rd or 4th gear: “3-4” clutches are worn out.

No man, I've still got 3rd and 4th. But it wont shift from 2nd to 3rd at WOT. If im running 50 to 75% throttle it will shift just fine.

use a scan tool to check tps sensor for smooth linear response or take it to someone who knows how to do it.
