What's up guys, I figured I would join up here to see what's going on in the Chevy truck world. I recently inherited my dads old 1982 C30 454 Extended Cab, Camper Special  It has been sitting for about five years now. My dad took this truck off the road because the brakes went out and he no longer really needed it to haul around stuff. So now I am reviving it to it's full glory once again! The previous and first owner towed around race cars with it, so it must be a little depressed to go from that lifestyle to sitting around for years. haha

I went to start it up last week and it fired right up with starting fluid! Then the five year old gas flowed into the carb and made the truck run like crap. So I siphoned the old gas out and I am in the process of a carb rebuild. I am kinda a newbie at trucks, but I am sure you guys will help me out! :D

I will post up a rebuild thread soon if you want to follow my adventures. I look forward to spending a little time on here!

(Pics as soon as I can post them!)

Cool! My grandpa had an old Crew Cab DRW 454 that I towed a tent trailer with one time. It looked really funny, but it was the only thing I had available at the time with a trailer hitch.

I can't even imagine how weird that would look! lol

Thanks for the welcome guys

I couldn't even see it behind me unless I was turning. You've got your posts, where are the pictures?

That's what my grandpa's looked like, except it was all white and it was a 74 (same body style).

Sweet! Glad to hear that, did anything drastic change in the body and interior between those years? I wonder if most parts are interchangable
