So I just purchased a 1971 C20 4x4 350 manual trans truck. I got the truck really cheap and it needs some exhaust work and brake work done on it. I am trying to get these fixed so I can move the truck on the road to my house where I have all the tools to do what needs to be done. Anyhow the truck has long tube headers on it now and that is it for exhaust. I was wondering if I just slap some true duals on myself so I don't have to worry about clearing front drive shafts or shift linkages with an x-pipe, will it hurt the engine any? I know running without a crossover isn't the best idea for performance, but will I do any damage? Eventually the exhaust will get re done in stainless the right way, so I don't want to spend a ton of money now. I am thinking straight pipe, two cheap summit racing mufflers, and two tail pipes.

Thanks in advance,

Jr

You need 2 of these. That's all.

Well its pretty lame to ask for advice without giving key information like emissions compliance. Haha. Slide some pipes on and run them to the bumper.

Yeah, up here it will need mufflers and exhaust past the passenger compartment to make it legal, also glass packs wont pass inspection in NH.

Thanks.

Why would a 71 need inspected. How far are you going. If you just need to run a few miles to get it home I would not even mess with the exhaust.Just run it home open headers. It wont hurt anything.I have ran several cars and trucks 10 miles to my exhaust guy, with open headers. If you see a cop you might want to coast by.
The brakes should work though.
