I am not sure if this is the right section to post this so please move it if need be.
I was reminded of my favorite truck I have ever owned by reading a recent thread and it got me thinking about which trucks from my past I would love to have back.
#1 on the list would be my 1984 Silverado. I was forced to sell it to put a down payment on my first house which I still feel was a smart move, but man it was hard to let go of the keys! It was black with the charcoal interior and basically looked like it rolled off the showroom floor with only the addition of the wrap around (blazer style) rear bumper and a 4" - 6" lowering kit. It was a weird package originally - all power options, complete Silverado interior, overdrive transmission, BUT an inline 6 cylinder under the hood. I came across a low mileage 350 out of a moving van that had a fire in the storage box and was taken out of service. I bought the whole van for $500 and drove it home. It was a strong 4 bolt main that I was lucky enough to be able to drive before pulling. I added a few choice go fast items and stuck it in my truck. The one good thing was with the 6 cylinder original package the truck came from the factory with 3.73's so with the addition of the V-8 it ran strong. I remember that truck had the coldest air conditioning! I, at one time, put a set of 17" aluminum wheels on it (which was big in 1996), but quickly removed them and put the 8" rally's back on. It just looked better IMO that way. The idiot I sold it to totalled it within a few weeks of buying it or I am sure I would have tried to buy it back. That truck will always hold a special place in my heart!
#2 would be a 1982 Fullsize 2WD Blazer that my father and I did from the frame up. The body had a couple rust spots but we actually found a deal on a 91 4X4 body and swapped them. GM was nice enough to leave all the mounts in the same exact place. While the cab was off we replaced all the suspension components and detailed that frame to better than new. So we ended up with a 91 rust free 2WD Full Size Blazer (I bet you can't find one of those running around). It was also Black with charcoal interior, lowered a few inches, rally wheels, front grill and lights from the 91, rear end from a 454SS truck w/4.10's, 350, and 700R4. It was a killer looking ride. It actually came up for sale a couple years ago on eBay, but the guy wanted a small fortune for it so I had to let it go.
Anyway - so what trucks do you wish you had back?????
