Has anyone done this? Couldn't find anything using search. I'm planning to use a GM "shark fin" antenna, but don't know what type of cable I need to route it to the receiver. I'm thinking 10' should be enough if I mount the SCC1 tuner behind the glove box. Would appreciate any expertise or suggestions.
This will be going on my '00 Suburban 2500.

From my experience, a factory antenna wont work on aftermarket units, ive tried 10 times or so. I can never find out why, dunno if the factory ones are powered or have a resistor in them but they wont get signal on aftermarket decks. Also to my knowledge, you cant get just the cable.

I've come to the same conclusion. Everything I've read says the signal is degraded when using a OEM XM antenna to feed a Sirius tuner. Guess I'm stuck with the magnet mount.
I saw a post where a guy took the antenna part out of a sirius XM antenna (only a little bigger than a quarter) and installed it in one of his clearance lights on the roof. Looked pretty slick..... if only I had clearance lights on my OBS. Unfortunately I've since lost the thread :(

I believe this is the thread you refer to...I like the idea of hiding it in there...
