Went and spent to much on a 1969 4x4 1/2 ton acouple weeks ago  and have a few questions on it i hope you guys can help me with.
Truck has a 350 with a 4sd and 3:73 gears and saggy leafsprings all around..lol seems like a good soild truck but does have some glitches that need worked out.
thanks for any help

Now my first question, how do i tell which TC is in it i cant seem to find and plate on it that states what it is.

front,

this has lockout hubs and has stickers on the glove box door inside and out to show how to use them and the one inside is the factory sticker stating it came with them.

question 2, this thing only will power the rear wheels i cant get it to spin the front drive shaft period wether its in 4 high or 4 low and was wondering what might be wrong with it (best guess maybe) , iam going to have to re seal it but might just take it some place and get it sealed and fixed at the same time.
from what i can tell the lockouts work and when i engage them i can spin the front tires and the carrier spins ( did this when i changed the fluid) so iam pretty sure its something in the TC.

Also does anyone know who makes a disc brake kit for the front of this so i can get these drums off.

I think it's a Dana transfer case and I see some numbers on the red cone next to the driveshaft.

I saw you'r picture of the transfer case and went and looked at an old chevy truch shop manual from 1963. I looks just like the parts breakdown in the manual.
It looks like a Timkin T223. The shop manual says the serial number is stamped near the two drain/fill plugs on the left side. The only thing is that the 1963 model is mounted seperate from the transmission. It looks like you'r unit is bolted to the trans. Also is you'r 4spd. trans have a 6 boltP.T.O. cover on each side or only on the drivers side. The SM465 has two P.T.O. openings and the SM420 has only one.

Yeah its bolted to the tranny, and I think it only has the cover plate on the one side but i will have to check to be sure.

Thanks for the info.

Well it does have plates on both sides so the SM 465 must be the tranny then.
