I have been wanting to insulate my 99 3dr. 1500 for a while now and so far I've already got a combination of materials that I'm using in certain different areas such as rubber coating, spray foam, and dynamat. But I was wanting to take it a step further and try to see if there was anything else I could do like stuffing the insides of the doors. A friend of mine said he once used sheets of R-32 house insulation in his car doors and it worked for him but I was wondering if that would be safe or practical bc I'm concerned about possibly being exposed to it in such a tight space over time and don't want to risk inhaling it or anything like that. It seems like a good idea but I'm wondering if something else like polyfil, pillow stuffing, bags of cottonballs, or something like that could also be just as effective. I know these materials would be easier to work with esp. in the front doors. Just wanted to know what you guys thought. Is it effective, worthwhile, safe, etc.? Thanks for any input!

Could also look into lizard skin, its a sprayable sound deadening material.

Inside the doors get moisture and rain water in them. I wouldnt put anything that would hold the moisture or it could cause a musky smell.

Well you know I didn't think about that. Would it still get musty to where you could smell it if it stays covered by the panel?

Not only musty but it can cause rust as well. It will get wet even with the panel on. Water runs down there everytime it rains.
Good luck
