Hello, I was really thinking on getting a chevy truck c10 between 73-87 and restore it!
The truck that i have the eye on is in very good condition for the kind of work that have been used for, the brakes doesn't work... so obviously will need new brake system
New suspension(i really want air suspension, i think is kinda cool having the ability to lower and lift the truck whenever i want)
Body work(hopefully full replacement of the bed)
New exhaust system
Interior work
Matt black paint
20" Rims and tires
and finally... the engine, i find the engine not in bad condition but not either in full condition, so maybe a high maintenance of the stock engine or investing on a new engine(but i want an engine with low gas consumption, i think a GM Crate Engine 5.0L is too much imo), is that the lowest engine option i can get?

This is the truck:

This is how i want it to look like(i know it's a lot of work and money to spend, but i'll worth every cent):

What you guys think?, should i go for it?, my dad and i would do the work(he knows a lot about engine and stuff or maybe i'll join a school only in saturdays to restore it and learn more about cars and how they work.
Thank for taking your time of reading this if you got to this point haha.

Yes, absolutely worth it if the truck is priced right, and especially so if your dad is going to be involved in the restoration. My dad and I tried 3 different projects, and because we started so late (first one I was 18 and had already been spinning wrenches for nearly 10 years) we couldn't agree on who was going to pay for what, and what style we were going to build them. Just ended up a big argument. The next time we build something, I will be in charge of the drivetrain, and he will take care of cosmetics.
