I want to get my windows tinted. I went into Auto Zone and they were having a GREAT deal on tint. And i started wondering if i should just do it myself? How hard is it to do?

Dont waste your money on that junk. It will turn colors on you in a year or two. If you have it done at a shop you have a warranty. Lumar is one of the better ones if you decide to do it yourself.

I just got back from having my Suburban done. IMO doing it yourself is not worth the hassle for the money you'd save. And then there's the warranty. Now just have to ride around with the windows up for the next three days.

That one of those things, i'd just let the pros take care of. Seen way to many messed up DIY window tints and i really wouldn't want to mess with it anyhow

if you have someone to help you it's not that bad. I helped 3 friends do it and they turned out fine. My truck when I bought it had tinted windows done by a shop and they are shot and purple looking after 2 years. Your call, but im going to do mine myself.

The previous owner of my truck left their receipt from when they had it done. It said $130 for rear window and strip on the windshield. This was from a few years ago. My truck came from Texas, so I don't know what kinda "shop" it was.

Its not hard on the flat truck glass. I did mine over 7 years ago, still black with no purple coloring or delamination. Buy good tint, keep the glass nice and wet so you can get all the bubbles out, and keep a new razor blade handy for clean cuts. With that said, it is fairly cheap to have it done at a shop and will save you some headaches if you not real sure on how to do it.

I'm a big DIYer, but window tint is better left to the pros. Nothing ruins a perfectly good car/truck like piss poor window tinting. What I would do is look at other cars you've seen with good tint jobs and ask them where they got it done. Crack the window and make sure it goes all the way to the top, not 1/4" below the top like a crap outfit would do.

Ive been doing tint for a very long time , buying tint from an auto parts store is a waste of money. That film if bottom of the barrel film. Use quality film last longer and looks good longer also.
