Hey guys I need to do a complete fuel system from tank to the pump. I have bought the tanks, just need to know to buy 2 or 3 outlet sending units. Anybody have a diagram or explain how it is done on their 86 or equivalent year?

86 should be a 3 outlet.

86 should be a 3 outlet.
The problem is I have absolutely nothing to go buy. The truck as it sits has nothing but a cab on a completely redone frame. I got the truck from a local restoration shop where a guy dropped the truck off to them to be redone, lost his job, couldn't pay for it, so I wound up with the truck somehow.....
So if it is a 3 outlet, then 1 goes to carb, 1 is return line, the 3rd outlet goes where? I have 0 to go buy........... I have the brand new tanks, sending units, and selector valve, just need help with the rest.........

Does the third go to the filler neck as a vent?

I have done literally 6 hours of research on this and have peaced together that the 3rd is the vent line and runs up to the charcoal canister, which I know I do not have since the only thing there is the cab and all body pieces painted but off the truck. I am not sure what to do with the vent line though. Some people do not run the cannister either and they put a little 1/4" air valve on the end of it and just hang it somewhere in the back of the truck?
or those that have a 1986 or equivalent year, what is the best way to do the vent line?

does it have dual tanks?
Yes, it has dual tanks on it. I bought 2 and the bed has a cutout on the passenger side. I bought the control valve and the switch to make it 2 tanks.

You can cap the vent on the sender unit, and then vent the fuel caps. 1/16" drill right down through the center.
