Will OEM Cd player work in 05 silverado that only came with am/fm radio?

I bought a 2005 RCBS 2wd 4.8 5 speed silverado that only came with a factory am/fm radio with no cd or cassette. I bought a factory single cd player from a 2004 silverado. Once I installed the cd player it shows it is locked so there is no way yet for me to tell if it will work. I noticed the am/fm radio I removed from the truck had 1 port to plug in wires and the cd player had 2 ports to plug in wires. I pluged in the connector to the cd player that was plugged into the radio but it has the other port that my am/fm radio never had. What is this for and do I need another wire to plug in for the cd player to work or once I get it unlocked will it work like it should the way it is? THANKS!

It should work just fine as far as I know.

Did you try the steps in post 2 of this sticky to try and unlock it?

I thought those instructions only worked on the older decks, like the ones from a 99-02, and that the 03+ decks need the computer reset class 2 thing
