Greetings everyone I am new to this site. Been a GM guy for most of my life. I am 21 and from PA.
I own a 79 Trans Am and a 02 Cavalier (daily driver). Looking to trade my Cavalier on this Silverado.

The reason I joined is because I am looking to buy a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L extended cab 4x4. It is loaded with 48,000 miles on it. Has a supercharger and headers with a true dual exhaust. Not sure how much boost it is pushing it was around 5 psi around 2000 rpm didn't get on it too hard. As far as I know the rest is stock and is in pretty good shape. Wants 16,900 for it with trade. It seems to drive real nice and has awesome power.

How reliable do you think this truck will be with a supercharger? The dealer said it was the good kind. I like this truck because it's fairly new and unique. And can probably smoke a lot of stuff on the street too but that's just a bonus. It will be my DAILY vehicle and drove all seasons. Need someone who has experience here to chime in.

Thanks

I look at this with ANY car or truck. It depends on how well you maintain it. If you beat the piss out of it and dont do your maintenance its going to fail. Just take care of it and it will be a long lasting truck.

Thanks I felt the same way so I bought it. I mean you have to blow the bugs out of it once in a while he he. But I always take care of my stuff. I hope I can learn some things on here.

Maintance is key all though I'd go over with a fine toothed comb. Somebody has already spent a pretty penny supercharging and putting headers on a newer truck. They either had money to blow or traded it off to get rid of the problems. You have to watch used vehicles especially when they have been modded. Somebody else's problems.
