On my 06 Tahoe, I was cycling through the DIC and noticed my engine hours are at 573.3. The vehicle has just over 92,000 miles on it. What's up with that? That means average speed is around 160mph, obviously not that case.

Any ideas?

I tried it but couldn't get them to reset. Has to be the only logical explanation. Unless the previous owner replaced the cluster or something and only had the mileage updated? I dunno.

There are many stories of people complaining about them resetting all by themselves, including me. Mine was at 2,500 hours, then I looked at it sometime later and it was at 17 hours.

mines at like 357 or something like that and my average speed would be 35.9 mph so i guess mines right. i tried resetting it and couldnt. i thought i could but i guess not.

I imagine that GM probably fixed that issue with the nnbs.

Yeah that's all I can figure. I tried to reset it tonight and couldn't. Strange

Yep, same exact thing happened to me. As long as nothing happens to the odometer I'm cool.

I would be happy to look into this for you and see if there is a way to reset the engine hours or if there is a point where it will reset itself. In order to do so, I will need the last eight of your VIN. Contact me privately for more assistance. Thank you.

Just remember that engine hours dont always equal driving time. Its when the engine is running. So waiting for the windshield to defrost, in drive thrus, waiting at red lights, anykind of idle time while not moving will put hours on the engine. It may seem like small amounts at a time but itll add up in a hurry.
