Ok, first off a little bit of history on the truck. It's a 2003 2500HD factory bose no onstar though. I've had this truck 2 years and always had the factory radio with a PAC adapter to run my subs under the rear seat. Never have had any noises or anything with this setup at all.

Now, tonight I put a dual brand xdvd3201 double din dvd player in it and used a gmos-04 adapter, it looks plays and sounds great, when it's not running. I've got a bad alternator whine that seems to only be in the left front speaker and tweeter. It's not bad enough that I can't over power it with the music but it's still annoying.

I've tried running a new ground since some people seem to fix this that way, but it didn't help at all. I've tried unhooking my aftermarket amp even and no help. Is it possible that my 200k mile factory alternator is causing this? I've had a feeling that it's been on the verge of going out, but tests fine and has never let me down yet.

Also: I swapped the cd player out of my 85 into the 03 and it does the same thing along with running a new power wire with no luck.

Those dual players are horrid for noise.

Alternator wine is usually caused by a grounding issue. Try cleaning the ground on your battery, and move the ground for your amp around. Ive seen moving a ground 2" make a difference.

The problem lies within a ground loop being created between the deck and the factory amp of your truck, making sure all the grounds are good is a good start, sometimes moving them around will help.

Ive seen binders upon binders of the causes and fixes for this problem. Most of which are ground related.

You sure its just the LF speaker making the noise? cause that would make me think the gmos or factory amp...

And isn't there some type of gain adjustment on the gmos-04, maybe try tuning it down a bit...
