I have a 98 SWB with shorties and no cats, stock y pipe into 3'' that y's back out after the crossmember into 2 flowmaster 40s. anyone know these sound with full 3'' to the back with the muffler sitting sideways like an F-Body with quad tips? Just looking to get rid of the generic flowmaster sound wanting something raspy and unique. If memory serves me the muffler is a raven.

your truck must be fairly loud....personaly would just go with a single 3in and 1 muffler and single 3in exhaust

It's actually not as loud as you would expect. It has decent tone, but like I said; I'm tired of the generic flowmaster sound. Do you think full 3'' past the rear end would be too free flowing? The muffler, post muffler pipe, and quad tips have been given to me by a friend with an LT Z28, thats why I'm contemplating this. I think it would be fairly simple to run a 3'' pipe with a few bends to the muffler then out of the muffler identical to an F-Body car. I was just wondering if you could get a clear throaty sound opposed to the gravelly, not so clean sound (although, the sound can eat small children and pets) out of a vortec.

l went from full dual dynomaxs because they were loud, bad tone and cost me low end tourque....went back to single 3in from LT headers and kept 1 dynomax and dumped after muffler with 3in..tone improved and low end torque returned....with sigle 3 in you will be fine with present setup and the 3 in will handle any future mods ie heads, engine ect well up to 450hp+..whats more its cheaper...this lesson cost me a few bucks but got what l wanted so am content
