Cluster swap trans temp not working

I recently acquired a gauge cluster with trans temp gauge, however the gauge doesn't move.

I took the front half of the new cluster and mated it to the back half of the old cluster so I could retain original mileage and hour meter.

Here is my question: i know the truck is wired for the trans temp but is the non trans temp cluster wired for it? The circuit board looks the same on both. If I put the back of the trans temp equipped cluster on, will it work? Thanks.

If you just swapped faces it will not work. You can however have your original cluster programed so that it can work. Probably easier to have the new one programed with your mileage and info. Anybody with a tech2 scanner can do it.

Got it. Thanks. Can someone please take a picture of a trans temp cluster with the key on but a cold trans so I can see proper baseline needle placement thanks
