Anyone else done it? I stripped my interior to wash the carpet and clean everything out. Headliner was hanging so I was going to re do it. Board is holding its shape but is to soft and shot to re cover. Figure Id lay down foil over it and glass it. cheaper than 300 for a new one and using glass I can easily add to it like drop down display or storage later on.
Anyone else done it? have pics? any recommendations?
BTW this is a 92 OBS and will be my first large glass project. I feel comfortable with it though as it is a relatively flat surface to do without major detail. It will be next week when I start when I get paid. Ill get pics when I do.

Subscribed to this thread.
I have plans for a sunroof, and rear air in my 2door tahoe.
A custom headliner is also in my future.
Interested to see how yours turns out!

I have done a few (3) over the years. They become heavy from the glass and WILL crack on you. The smaller one I did (84 Regal) was the best structurally didn't have too much area to build up the weight. HOWEVER, it LOOKS AWESOME. GO FOR IT. You be pleased even in a year or two when your RE doing it. ;)

Have not started yet plan to though soon. As far as weight im going to only do about 4 layers maybe enough to be able to carry it without breaking. Hell the originals are weaker than toilet paper....
I also plan to give it some extra support on the back side be it a velcro setup like that up front or another form of support that is unseen.

Velcro is a good idea. You can also put some long strips of fiber down as you go to make a "rib/brace" to help with support and not add to the weight issue. LOL As I'm wrighting this I have to redo mine now.
I um,....... BROKE mine after a little problem on the install this morning..... Might have to help you with this one. :) GL
