Hello everyone,
My name is john and I stumbled across this site while trying to find out about doing a rear disc conversion on a 1981 chev c-10 step side. This truck is a project my wife and myself started at the beginning of this year. When we started on this project it was a straight six with a th350 with a chunk of the bell housing missing, no interior to speak of and rust in all the common places and then some not some common places.
We sent a 350 block out and had the basics done, then we clearanced the block for a eagle 383 stroker kit with a thumper cam, for the interior we installed a set of 2000 ford expedition bucked seats, we also installed the center console for them expedition after heavy modification, the shifter is from a 1996 blazer, we also installed three 12v outlets , two of which are powered with the key and one is constant. We also swapped in a 700r4 transmission.
a little about myself, I have been an auto body painter for the last 13 years and have recently moved into the office to write estimates and help oversee the daily operations of the shop. I have been turning a wrench before I was able to drive, and this hobby turned into a more expensive hobby :cool:
As sections of the truck are finished I will post pictures of before and after, and talk about all the conversions I have made.
