Buying replacement rubber (Slam RE-7 and 8) and was just wondering how easy/difficult it is.
Can it be done with my basic tools jacked up in my driveway (front and rear)? Any advice?
Sorry I know this is a dumb question, but that's what forums are for I guess.
Thanks all

Replacing airbags on a lowered truck? I'm pretty sure it can be done but I've never worked on a bagged truck, I've pulled a tranny in my driveway and I think that would be harder than bags

its as easy as pulling springs.. jack the truck up pull the whell calipers rotors and spindles then the bag then repeat backwards... just make sure your air system is empty on what ever your working on so you dont blow your eye out

on the front its easy. Jack the truck up, let all the air of the front bags. remove the shock if you have them and remove the calipers but not the brake line and dont let the caliper pull on the brakeline. Now most obs trucks dont have there bottom cups bolted in, if yours does unbolt it from the lower control arm. Now remove upper ball joint from spindle and let the spindle and hub lean to the side. Now at the top of your frame between where the upper arm mounts are there is a bolt. take it out. this should drop your bag and cups. move these around slowly to find out how the air line is connected and take it off. remove the bag cups from the truck. Remove old bags from the cups. Add new bag and reverse the process. Although if your new bags have a larger diameter you may need to trim the frame more for clearance. IMO stick to RE7s there are as big of a bag you want up front.
Now for the back it depends if you have a cantilever setup or bags over/behind the axel. no matter what you will need to remove the bed and the rest is easy. Unless you have a notch hole cut in your bed with bags over axel then its really easy.
I hope i helped

Great help thank you.
I just need to make sure all the air is out of the bag. Does it matter if the tank has air?
I do have bag over axle right now. Slam re7 up front. Going with re8's in the back. Thanks again.

You can leave the air in the tank, just dump it out of the bags before you remove them.
