Anyone found a nice, decently priced dash cover they like for their trucks? Specifically I am looking for one for a '95 1500. My dash is cracked in one spot and I just want to cover it up for now. I've never been a big fan of the "carpet" style dash covers and have found some products listed as molded caps or similar terms that look like a fitted hard plastic cover that seem like they would work and look pretty good. Though so far I have only found a few sources for them. There is an ebay shop selling them for like $190, and a couple internet stores that want more like $250. I am not sure if these are reasonable prices for the product, but considering you can get the fabric ones for like $30-40 I am not sure I can justify that. Interested in opinions of how people like their covers.

When I bought my truck it had a carpet one on there. ( it was owned by an older gentleman) I hated it so I just threw it out. But my fashion isn't cracked, if it was I may have kept it in there. They don't look too bad if the color matches good.

I used to hate the fabric covers, but I used one to mask my cracked stock 91 dash and once I got used to it I had no issues with it. I've just done a 98 dash swap and even though I have no cracks I'm thinking about buying another carpeted dash cover for added protection

I've been looking and found some fabric ones that seem like they are a thinner material, more like a thin mat or suede. The ones I don't like so much are the ones that literally look like a full thickness piece of carpet up there. For the price of those hard caps, I figure I could probably do a dash swap if I can find a good condition used one. But I'm not kidding myself, this truck isn't a beauty queen and it probably isn't worth that much for a cosmetic issue when I could fix use it to fix something important.

Do you have a junk yard near you? I'm sure you could find one there.

that was what I was thinking. I could probably get a dash for less than these plastic caps. But I really don't want to go through the trouble to install a whole dash right now. If I ever have to remove it, I mean I might as well, but I'm kind of thinking of taking the lazy route right now, haha.
