Could someone give a try at designing a logo for my business. I've seen people who can do better flames than me in Photoshop than me. Anyways the name is Manley Paintball. I kinda wanted that with flames on either side of it, but if anyone wants to try any other kinda logo for me I might be swayed by another design. I would also like to see different colors as I havent decided on that either yet. Only thing is I want it simple so it can be put on shirts and hats, so no pictures or anything. Thanks.

Do you actually expect somebody to design a corporate logo for you free of charge? Besides, your logo sounds like it needs to be vector-based art, probably done in Illustrator. Anyway, I don't mean to flame on you; but asking somebody to design a logo for you at no charge is a bit of a stretch. There are a lot of graphic designers out of jobs around here...I am sure you could find somebody to freelance the design work for a reasonable fee. I am gainfully employed with a prepress trade shop..we do litho and flexo prepress, and large format graphic display work. I could probably find a designer, but I am sure nobody would knowingly design a company logo for no compensation.

Designing a company logo is a little different than touching up a picture. I've done Photoshop work to people's pics for their web sites, no charge. It's sort of an unwinding hobby, and I don't mind doing a little Photoshop work here and there. I do tons of scanning and retouching on my personal photos. Actually, there is a LE (Limited Edition) version of Photoshop 5.0 that can be had for much less than the full version. It came bundled with my scanner. Granted, it does not have the pen tool for creating precise paths, nor can you work in CMYK color space, which doesn't matter for web-based jpeg images anyway.

My whole point though, is that the printing prepress / graphics field is collapsing in on itself in my area....there are much fewer color / assembly operator jobs to be had in my area. I've been fortunate enough to survive several rounds of layoffs over the last 3 years. I just have a hard time swallowing the fact that somebody is trying to get a logo designed free of charge, when their are people I know who do that for a living that need to keep food on their table. Some doodling and idea work is fine, but a final corporate logo to be used for repurposing, printing, ect, is an entirely different matter, and I believe some compensation would be in order under that scenario.

Ya thats about what I would like it to look like if anyone could.

Darren, I'm not a big corporation here. I'm a college student who farms during the summer and has this little paintball business that I dont even make $400 profit each year. So it was either this or forget about it. I can make my own logo, its just that I suck with flames and have seen some people on here do logos for other people. As far as reprinting, I would probably put this on a hat and a t-shirt for me, and maybe make some for my cousins, so its not like it goes in a lot of advertisments or anything. But I do understand where you are coming from, I have a aunt that does logos and signs and stuff.
