I was just checking out their site and the HP, Torque and mileage improvements they claim are pretty damn good. Anyone running one of these, if so what do you think about them? Is there any resonation in the 1800 to 2000 rpm range and how is highway speeds as far as sound? I did a search but only found one thread so...

how is the horsepower increase? does it have a venturi built into the muffler or do you still have to have the venturi part installed in front of the muffler? I have heard the magnaflow resonates and you lose your lowend, but with the PV I have heard that you keep your low end and it doesn't resonate, can you atest to not losing your low end with the PV?

i think it helped the low end. out of all my "performance" mods i noticed the biggest gains with the muffler. i also have a upd intake and had a hpp3 but sold it. haven't used the predator yet.

venturi who? my stock muffler was cut off and the pv was welded in place. i didn't notice any venturis

it is a piece they talk about on their web site but I think their mufflers just have them in them already, just checking. Is there any other muffler you can compare it to? I am just trying to pick the best one and this one sounds like it will help me with the high end because it is a free flow muffler but also help low end. There is a clip on their site it is just not great quality.

Am I giving the guys at PV too much credit thinking that they make a muffler that can retain low end torque yet still perform in the top end? It sounds a little too good to be true.

unless you are looking for something really loud and the price doesn't bother you, i don't think you'll be disappointed.

I'm just wondering if I will get the same performance out of a magnaflow? or a spintech?

yes :read:

on an almost completely stock motor you are gonna see the same gains from just about any muffler.

its easier to notice loss in low end power than anything

am I gonna lose a significant amount of low end going with a performance muffler? I have heard from AZDragger and I think 2003silv I think it was, that with the magnaflow they didn't lose any low end and the recent issue of truckin I think said 12 HP and 13 lbs of torque gained with a magnaflow which, from my understanding, actually shows a gain in low end.

dude those gains are with a full catback on a 5.3 ill bet.

a muffler alone wont give you 12 hp.

and no you wont loose anything from a muffler swap. just keep your stock pipes with your 4.8

yup it was on a 5.3. I realize that a muffler alone won't give me that, I could get a full catback custom mandrel bent, but from what you say it wouldn't really benefit me to get a full catback since the stock pipes flow enough, right? cool, magnaflow goes on today!

yes. your stock pipes are 2.75 inch. that is PLENTY big for a 4.8. mandrel bends wont do much for a stock motor IMO.

yep. swap the muffler and you will be stylin:cool:
