Alright, I'm thinking about a 2/4 drop, and I was told not to get the drop kit that had the front coil springs because it messes with the camber or something along the line of that suspension geometery, only reason I looked at the coil spring idea is because of the price from either western chassises or some other vender I was reading in Truckin'. Is this true or is this person just blowing smoke in my face?

im gonna have to go with a bunch of smoke. I have a 2-4 drop on my truck now, and I had at one point a 2-4 drop on my other truck. Not one problem.

:read: Yeah, it'll change the camber of your front end. That's what alignment shops are for.

The coils vs. spindles is more about ride quality than anything. A coil is going to give you a slightly firmer ride, but in turn you get better handling. Spindles will give you your drop with stock ride quality.

I'm a g-freak, so coils always come first. Besides, they're cheaper.

Thanks for the information, looks like I'll be going with the spring drop since I totally forgot about alignment shops being in exsistance. :dunce:

Thanks, man. I wish I had saved some of those pics, though. Sites I had them linked to took them down and I've lost them forever. :( :bawl:

I'm curious, but how did you get the newer Sierra front bumper to bolt up? Is it a direct bolt up or did you have to have the brackets custom made because I want to put the 00+up Silverado front bumper on my truck and get the Corvette front bumper cover.

You have to cut and splice your stock mounts and the new bumper's mounts. Keep in mind that my bumper is also sectioned about 4" so it's not so wide and goofy looking.

I see, do you have any pic of the mounts that you spliced and cut, how time consumer is it?

No. Sure don't. I don't think it's a big job because my bodyman had the bumper mounts made, sectioned the bumper, and trimmed the fenders all within a day's work.
