My exhaust is goin on my 97 silverado 350 next week. It's goin to be flowmaster 40 originals 2.5 inch adn then back to 22 inch long 3.5 inch tips. I want it to be a good sounding loud. My question is should i get some high flow converters or aren't they really worth the money, or should i just get simulators and take the cats off. I want to get the best sound with the best performance. I don't plan on getting headers so it will just be exhaust.

Of the 2 options you presented, I say hi-flo. But your stock cats are fairly free-flowing as it is, so why bother?

The only reason I would replace if them is if you have fairly high mileage on your truck (over 100K). They will eventually clog over time and it will affect performance.:read:
