How much brownbread does it take for the back wall of the ext. cab?

I am planning on doing two layers on the back part and one in the floor.

Nick- Should I go as far as I can towards the center of the truck after removing the back seat (I don't want to pull my front seats out and do the front yet)? How many layers did you use? Did you put any on the sides of the ext. cab or just the back wall and floor?

I am planning on buying 70sqft off of ebay ($150 w/ship). I would like to also do the front doors when I install components later. How much does it take to do them? If you do the inner/outer part.

70 will do the back wall, back floor up to the front seats, sides of the cab in back and the front doors.

I guess 70 should be plenty. I thought it about it a little more after I posted!

I may take my front seats out if its not too hard, and I have time.

Mine is a '97 with a third door. Where do I need to put BB on the sides? All you can see is plastic. Do you have to take apart the rear pillars to get to the metal? Is it worth it on the sides?

If I get the 70, would it be worth the sound to go ahead and take the front seats out to do the entire truck?

I've never heard a car/truck with sound deadening. I'm looking forward to getting it done!:head:

i just took off all the plastic behind the rear seats and deadened it all. you might as well take the front seats out and do the whole floor.

The plastic on the sides? It has those storage buckets in the third door and on the driver's side. Were you able to get all of the plastic off their? I know I can get all of the metal directly behind the rear seats. What did you have to do to get the plastic off? Was it very hard?

Belmont is right, I used 70 sq ft to do the whole floor and a double layer on the back wall. You wont get very far without taking the front seats out. I used 72 sq ft on the front doors, 3rd door, and oppoisite wall.

Wow! So you have about 140 sq ft altogether? I'm not going to get my doors until I buy some new components---which will have to wait until I have some more $$$.:read:

How do you get the plastic off of the third door and opposite wall of the third door? Do you use a panel puller?

You mean the door panels? There are a couple of screws to take out, then the switches, and the panel is held on by clips. You should be able to pry up under the panel and pop it off carefully. If it was me, I wouldnt do the door until I had enough to do the inner and outer door skins, and I would do a double layer on the outer skin. Do a double layer on the back wall. :read:

I'm not doing the front doors yet. I meant on the 'third door'. Were you able to get the plastic off of it? Also, opposite of the third door (where a fourth door would be if it had one), is there a way to get that plastic off so you can get to the metal?

..and yes, I will do a double layer on the back wall!:rocking:

I assume you just need to pull the screws and pop the clips to get the panels off the 3rd door and the other side. It's easier on a 99+ than the older ones were.

I'll look at it and see what I can figure out.

Where's a good place to get a panel puller? How much do they cost?
