Well I just got back from lunch and picking up my truck from the exhaust shop. I ended up going with 2 Flowmaster 40 series originals and 4" stainless steel tips to the corners. He didn't really get the tips at the corneres how i asked but it does look good. I went with 2.5" piping from the cats back and i think that i have no lost any power. The exhaust is also a lot quieter than I thought it was going to be. Can't really tell a whole lot of difference in noise between the dual 40's and the 50 series I had on there before. Can i expect the setup to get a little bit louder after a few days of driving around?
P.S. with this setup, is there anyway i could run my cats gutted and not have to worry about backpressure?

Congrats on the true duels. I noticed a difference in high end power when I first got my true duels put on.

well here is an update! after 2 days of just a few short drives, the exhaust has really gotten alot louder and sounds mean as hell...honestly my truck sounds exactly how i was hoping it would and it sounds awesome. since i have 3.08 gears in my truck (which suck) i don't get much of the exhaust drone on the highway, cause i am under the 1800 rpm level. they are a great exhaust and really add so much to the truck...they are much better then the 50 series i used to have and i am so happy.
thanks to all those who helped me with my choices...especially jeff_94, badass, and 1badgmc

How loud is loud,... I'm looking to do a 40 series single with dual out the rear. Is this going to be to loud for kids? I want something to make some noice but not to loud.
What do you think.

I had dual 40's on my 97 and yeah it was a little loud, but inside it wasn't to bad. my friend used to love to bring her kids for a ride in the truck since the drone would put them right to sleep:read: Her b/f used to try and get me to come over at night just to drive the kids around the block to put them to sleep:crazy:

i think the reason mine are not bad at droning is the fact that i have 3.08 gears so when i am on the highway, i never really get to the 1800rpm point to where they really drone. i will let yall all know something tonite, becuase i have a good 1 hour drive to take a final tonite where i will get to listen to the exhaust.

good point, I had 3.73's. as does my truck now:rocking: helps it a little bit at getting to the higher rpm range faster, i think
