View Full Version : Backspacing Question time...
Want to know if i can tuck a 22" x 9.5" in the back of a NBS with 5.75 BSM and an offset of +14mm.
Also want to know if i can tuck a 20" x 8.5" in the front of a NBS with 5.24 BSM and an offset of +14mm.
I'll get the tires to tuck no problem, just need the rims to first...
Thanks BS wizards :D

with the right tire up front, you won't have any problems. i don't know if you remember what it looks like, but that is the same offset james has on his truck. jimmy also has that on his white NBS.
i'm not too sure about out back. i'll do some number crunching and get back to you.:D

imo, the rear wheel in not going to work.... unless you do some serious fender work. let's say you run a 265/35/22 on that wheel, the distance from the mounting surface to outer most edge (total front spacing) of the wheel/tire combo is 5.25 inches. in other words, you would need to have about 5.5 inches of clearance between the hub and inner fender lip. :(
i'm planning on tubbing the fenders so it doesn't really matter what the bed looks like....just as long as they can get past the lip on the outside i'll be fine...

:cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
it's not really the house itself that's costing all the money. it's the fact that it's our first house that's a kick in the pants.

Since noone answered me on my thread Ill ask on this one. Will a 20X8 rim with a 4.5 backspace work on a 96 Tahoe with a 4in drop?

i don't know a whole lot about that body style, but my first thought is to say no. 5.0 inches, i believe is the desired BS you are looking for, but it also depends on what size tire you want to run. without that information, it's kinda hard to say for sure.
hey RJ if i roll the fenders up, would that work?

it might. the only way to know for sure is to remove a wheel(preferably the passanger side) and measure out about 5.5 inches from the wheel mounting surface. use a plumb bob to see where that point is in relation to the fender lip. if it's inside the fender lip, then yes you can roll it. if not, then you're gonna have to do some fender massaging.
i've seen wheels with that width and BS on our bodystyle before, so i know it's possible, but i'm not sure what kind of body work is involved to make it work.

You know what would be cool? Some kinda spread sheet or program where you type in the truck type, wheel size, backspacing, tire size, and amount of drop and it'll tell you if it tucks or not:read: :D :assclown:
