If you were going to swap out the center section for something else in it's place what would it be? I'm just addressing the center section and not the ball joints and such.gp:D

What I'm talkin about would be like taking a solid front axle and cutting the knuckles off leaving flanges for some form of CVs. The reason I'm daydreaming in this way it would be nice for me to replace my center section which is prone to grenading the spiders with something else like a 9" like I once saw in a toy. With the exception of the brackets I figure I could find a 9" and do it the same way I did the rear. Cut and narrow. Cut shafts and respline and drop in a open stump with matching gears. That would last longer than the cv's and keep the fuses outboard for easy replacement. I know to just swap in a SFA would be easier and stouter but I'm just daydreaming in this direction and shooting the bull.gp:D

I still say a hp dana 60...Gears are cut correctly for front end, and the added height of the pinion will help c.v. angles if lifting this dream machine...
Though if this all just fantasy, 9 out of 10 of the naked women flocking around the truck, will have no idea what a differential even is!

Aw but were talkin where the dream is. At the beach youd be right. But if it were here in East Tennessee they might know more than we do.:naughty: Actually there is a lady that belongs to the same club I do whos s-10 towers over mine with 3/4 ton axles and all. Makes my 36's look sad. Kind of turned me on tho...gp:cool:
Would the diff on that 60 be too big to the driver's side to fit in the frame rails?

But most of the time if they(girls) know more than you do, you arent gonna want the naked around you :whatever:
As far as the 60 goes if you are taking the tubes all they way down, and just flanging them for stub axles, Im guessing about 20-22 inches could be the min.

This one you would. Dude and she hung them. Her man refused to help. Probably right on the flanges.gp
