last week I ordered a Pioneer NAV-SYS910DVD from Etronics.com. I paid using my credit card. On Tuesday, after still not getting a ship confirmation from them, I call to find out what has happened. They explain that with an order this expensive, they often verify with the credit card company before shipping. The rep then says that it will ship that day.

thursday, I still have not gotten a email shipping confirmation. Again, I call to find out why. This time I am told that the product is in the warehouse, and will ship thursday or friday...:cussing:

So I cancel the order. I will be ordering this unit from Onlinecarstereo.com later today.

What really amazes me, is the seeming lack of business sense shown by automotive vendors.

I dunno why it would take so long to ship if they "have it in the warehouse", but it is not uncommon for companies to verify the shipping addy with the addy of the cardholder on large puchases.

I bought my Pioneer head unit, XM reciever, and front speakers from Etronics and had no problems, and saved a bundle over the same thing from any other vendor I looked at.

I have used Etronics exclusively and never had a problem. On the other hand, I have to constantly remind myself that discounters like Etronics probably will have compromised customer services whenever problems do occur. But, their prices are so good that we are willing to take the risk.

This is why Crutchfield is more expensive since their customer service USUALLY is better than good.

I also have had no probs with etronics... Service kinda sucks, but prices are unbeatable!

the prices are great, for sure, but 6 days for "processing"? guess I was just unlucky. oh well.

some of these online places don't always have in stock what they claim. they will give you the run-a-round to try and stall until they do get it in. also beware of "B" stock and refurbs that they aren't telling you you're getting. and also, some are not authorized dealers at all, they know someone who is and get it through them. you can score, and you can get screwed. it's just a buyer be ware situation.

waht i have heard about etronics is call and verify stock. I have bought from them with no issues what so ever, I did heed that advice and always called first.
